Child placed or institutionalized by an establishment in the health and social services sector

Placement or institutionalization of your child by an establishment in the health and social services sector may have an impact on the Family Allowance payment that you receive.

Under an order until the child turns 18

You are not eligible for Family Allowance or these programs:

the Supplement for the Purchase of School Supplies
the Supplement for Handicapped Children
the Supplement for Handicapped Children Requiring Exceptional Care.

Without an order until the child turns 18

You could be eligible for Family Allowance, if you meet all the eligibility requirements. You could also be eligible for the following programs:

* Payment of the Supplement for Handicapped Children Requiring Exceptional Care ceases where a temporary placement without interruption is equal to more than 50% of the time, except for a respite. You must contact us to verify whether the placement conditions are complied with.

Important!

If changes occur in your family situation during the placement or institutionalization of your child, you must inform us.
